Puppy 101: The Basics
Puppy 101 is the introductory course to puppy training. It is a six-week long course that teaches owners how to take care of their pup and what responsibilities come with having a dog. The course includes information on topics such as house training, crate training, feeding, and grooming. Your puppy will also attend a one-hour class each week during the course. This is where they will learn obedience commands such as sit, stay, come, down, and leave it. You will also be given homework to do with your pup outside of the class so that you can practice what you’ve learned.
Puppy 201: Advanced Training
Puppy 201 is an eight-week course that builds on what owners learned in Puppy 101. The course includes advanced topics such as leash training, jumping through hoops, and more complicated tricks like playing fetch, play dead, and rollover.
This course is imperative because not only will your puppy become more obedient; they will also become smarter and more well-rounded. There are even cases where they grow up to be dependable dogs that can do many things for you, such as picking up groceries, receiving delivery, fetching newspapers, etc. That is why as your puppy grows, so too will their training needs. That’s why it’s important to start with Puppy 101 and then move on to Puppy 201.
Paw-ternity Leave
Little Paws would love to give them time off for this major life event for those who have just adopted a new puppy from the shelter! Employees are allowed full-time off during their new puppy’s first year of ownership. This is important because only with time can you build a special bond with your new furry friend!
The Bottom Line
Owning a puppy is not just about fun and games because you have responsibilities as an owner. Puppy training is imperative to ensure that your new pup grows up healthy, happy, and ready to take on the world. So what are you waiting for? Sign up today!
